For the second consecutive day Dragon Baseball, 9-3 split a double header at the Highland Park Tournament. Day 2 of which was played at Coppell, where in the opening game the Dragons pounded the home standing Cowboys 13-5. Very rarely does a 13-5 win count as a come from behind victory but Coppell actually struck first in this game. The Dragons instantly responded back, scoring on a double by Adam Stephenson and two sacrifice flies to knot the game at one and pretty much end the competitive phase of game 1. The Dragons pounded out 11 RBIs in this game on 11 hits. Talk about your efficiency! The win went to TCU commit Cutter Sippel who picked up his first victory on the year. Several Dragons had multiple RBIs in the opener lead by Kyle Warden's three. Matt Werner and Cade Bell also each had a pair. Cole Johnson left Coppell's yard for his second homerun of the year which, although its very early in the year, leads the team.

If the Dragons have struggled at all in 2018 it has been in the back end of tournament doubleheaders. All three losses so far this season have come as part of the back end of a tournament day. The Dragons fell behind from jump street as they trailed 4-0 after 1/2 innings. The team would rally to take a 6-4 lead into the 5th inning only to see it slip away to Denton Guyer again. The tough luck 9-6 loss went to Luke Slahor in relief of Bergen Krug.
