If you just glanced at your Carroll Dragon Sports app, you are going to see that your Dragon Baseball game cruised to a district title clinching victory over Hebron 9-1 tonight.

What you don't see is that for 6 innings a Hebron team fighting for its season, and a district final playoff spot, seemed determined to push things to the final day. Carroll held the slimmest lead for the majority of this one at only 2-1 until a six run 7th inning broke the day open.

Will Quillen started the proceedings with an RBI single in the 1st. Cole Johnson, AKA ColeJ, was the offensive star of the day with three hits and three runs.

In a surprising move, Coach Larry Vucan, tapped senior Kyle Warden to draw the Tuesday evening series opening start. If you have been following this whole season you know that Kyle hasn't had a start in a few days. All he did was answer the call and throw a 2 Hitter to clinch the championship. He struck out five Hawks while throwing a complete game and going 1-3 at the plate as a hitter with an RBI.

Now the Dragons can wrap up their regular season and work in everyone on Senior night while preparing for the playoffs, Friday, April 27th at Dragon Field at 7pm

Note: due to other results tonight a Saturday game with Grapevine is more likely since neither team will have to play a tie-breaker game. Stay tuned for further details.
