Lady Dragon Volleyball chose to start their season with the toughest possible tournament in the state of Texas this weekend. Day 1 of the John Turner Pearland Adidas Classic was a breeze, however, as the Lady Dragons cruised through pool play without dropping a set.

They started early this morning and played 3 matches scattered throughout the day, sweeping away S.A. Brennan 25-5 and 25-14. After a very short recess the team took on Veteran's Memorial out of Corpus Christi defeating them 25-11 and 25-20. Remember sets in tournament play are the old school best 2 out of 3 to save time. SLC then concluded their long journey of volleyball with another sweep, defeating Waller 25-15, 25-20.

So far on the very young 2018 season the Lady Dragons are a combined 9 sets for and none against, sweeping all four matches played. SLC, 4-0, still awaits their Day 2 opening opponent but will face the winner of Argyle and Clear Falls at 11:45am Friday, Aug. 10th. Another early volleyball tilt for the Lady Dragons.

Anybody who knows the history of SLC volleyball knows that a Southlake/Argyle match up could be special. But Clear Falls would also be an excellent match. Such is life in the Pearland Tournament.

Stay tuned for Day 2 results.
