Throughout the regular season the Lady Dragons were almost unbeatable. Unless you pushed them to five sets. That changed tonight in one of the guttiest playoff matches in recent Carroll Dragon Volleyball history. And from the start of the night it was clear that the Lady Dragons would have to overcome adversity. They trailed in set one of the Region 1 Quarterfinal vs. Waxahachie 9-16 before storming back to a 26-24 first set win. Waxahachie was not going to play the part of the swept away bridesmaid, however, behind a strong performance by their own Division 1 commit they rallied back to take sets two and three 21-15 and 22-15 to put the Lady Dragons on the brink of the abyss. For the first time all post-season they would face two win or go home sets. No problem, the Lady Dragons simply were setting the stage for what first year Head Coach Teresa Dunn called "the best two sets we have played all year."

Despite facing a raucous flag waving crowd from their opponent, LDVB stormed past the Lady Indians in set four 25-17 pushing the match to a gut churning fifth and deciding set. SLC had not won a final set match all year long going 0-3, until the most important match of the season behind Natalie Glenn's team high 24 kills and 19 digs and Annabelle Smith's 16 kills and 4 blocks. The Lady Dragons would have plenty for set five, prevailing 15-11 and handing the Indians just their fifth loss on the season.

The Lady Dragons, 39-9 also got strong nights from McKenzie Nichols with 58 assists, 2 kills, 7 digs and 2 aces and Kendall Gilpin with 20 digs. Harper Hallgren chipped in 9 kills and 16 digs and Delaney Bell had 6 huge kills.

Up next SLC travels to Thomas Coliseum where they will take on Weatherford in the Region 1 Semi-final at 6pm on Friday, Nov. 9th.
