Just over 18 months ago, the Carroll hiring committee had a choice. Who would resurrect the Lady Dragon Basketball program? The answer has turned out to be something out of a fairytale. Former Letter Winner, Robyn Anders, now Robyn Anders McCoart, was tasked with restoring her program.

Playoffs had been all but a distant memory when she arrived two seasons ago. Now, her group of young Lady Dragons are 25-10, a two time playoff team, and headed for the Area round.

After a 50-45 first round shocker over Flower Mound last night, the team will spend tonight scouting their area round playoff opponent. It will either be DeSoto or Richardson Pearce.

The team used its typical balanced offensive attack to lead the Lady Jags at the end of every quarter. Seven Lady Dragon players tallied five or more points, lead by Jillian Sowell with 11 and Jordyn Sowell chipped in 8. The team effort of Camryn Tade with 8, Kaelyn Riley with 7, Kelsey Boyette with 6, and Brittney Flexer and Allyson Medici with 5 proved to be more than enough to buy the Lady Dragons more basketball. This team is more than just fine with that. More chapters will be written in this fairytale.
