Anybody who has been around high school volleyball can tell you that the start of the season can be a little hectic. Throw in a new coaching staff and the highest of pre-season expectations and you can have a reason for nerves. But The Lady Dragons showed none of these in their opening game for new head lady Teresa Dunn as the 4th coach in program history registered her first career win as a Lady Dragon.
At home tonight vs. JJ Pearce the Lady Dragons cruised to a 3-0 win. First set was 25-14, second set was 25-19 and third was 25-16.
I am sure this 2018 season will have its share of dramatic matches but tonight wasn't one of them. Coach Dunn saw her team put on a performance that showed no need for her admitted pre-match jitters. "I was a little nervous but once the first point happened, all the nerves went away and I was good."
The Lady Dragons continue a very busy first week with an early morning departure tomorrow morning for a tournament in Pearland but not before a stop at that road trip stable, Buc-ee's. Happy road trip Lady Dragons. Great first win of the season!
