It is not often at a program like Southlake Carroll that you can do something that has never been done. On Saturday night, however, Dragon Wrestling did just that - as for the first time in program history the team came home with TWO State Championship wrestlers!!!
Dylan Ota, 106, captured his second state title, consecutively, as he was a state champion last season and the junior is slated to return next year to try for a 3-peat!! Way to go Dylan!
Then Keagan Sieracki took to the mat in the 138 weight class. And this is where the night became historic for Dragon Wrestling when Sieracki won his gold medal. Never before have the Dragons had two state champions individually in one season.
The Dragon's Junior state championship duo has shown what a force the Dragon Wrestling program is becoming. Their two state titles combined with a pair of 5th place finishes, one on the boys and one on the girls side, made for quite a strong day at the Berry Center.
The Dragons finished 4th overall in the UIL State Wrestling team standings!
What a season for Dragon and Lady Dragon Wrestling!!!
