Owen Proksch was selected yesterday in the 9th round of the MLB Amateur Player Draft by the Texas Rangers with pick #265.

The recent 2025 Duke graduate pitched the Blue Devils to within one game of Omaha this season as their Friday night starter. Proksch's selection makes Carroll baseball history as the 2022 State Champion and 2022 Carroll graduate, join former teammate Griffin Herring in professional baseball as Herring was selected last year by the New York Yankees. This marks the first time that Dragon teammates who anchored the 2022 state championship rotation have been selected into professional baseball. In other words both members of the 2022 rotation, Proksch and Herring, are MLB Draft Selections. But this pair of left handers has been destined for the show for a long time now - and we all got to see them shine under the lights of Dragon Baseball Field!!
