We know that it is still early in the Swim season calendar as the state meet isn't until February, but what we had last night at the Elise Cerami Aquatic Center was a good old fashioned dual meet rivalry.
For those of you who are new to the area swim scene, for decades the Dragons dominated the Battle of 1709, but for the last two seasons the Keller Indians have claimed the state title. Last night, in what will be the first of several meetings this year, Dragon Swimming/Diving served notice that they might be on the comeback trail as they defeated the Indians 192-122, winning 11-12 events. Our Dragon Men "swept" the relays.

The Dragon swimmers/divers will be the first to tell you that there is much work to do before championship season. After all there are 36 Dragon swimmers competing tomorrow in the Mansfield Non-Tisca Meet. And the Lonestar Tisca Meet on Nov. 21-22 is considered the biggest and most competitive meet of the fall, but what took place last night was a great first building block as Dragon swimming/diving looks to build on their championship aspirations!
For on this night The Battle of 1709 belonged to Dragon Swimming once again!!
