Your Lady Dragon Golf Team is headed back to STATE as the Lady Dragon Black Team took the Region 1 title with a two day total team score of 580! (A refresher course on scoring in the UIL - Five team members play on a team. You drop the highest score and add the remaining team score together over the two days.)
The Regional title, individually, was won by Freshman Olivia Neal with a two day score of 144. The Freshman was solid down the stretch, winning a playoff hole to claim the title! Gia Ahlowalia won a playoff to secure 3rd place individually!!
Neal's individual title set the tone for a great team performance with her 144, as Gia Ahlowalia (Jr) fired a 145, and Tyler Burtnett (Sr) carded a duplicate score of 145. Stephanie De Marco (Jr) totaled a close 146 and Aubrie Nolen (Sr) rounded out the team with a total of 158.
The Regional title won by the Lady Dragons is the 8th Regional title for Southlake Carroll this year, joining Dragon and Lady Dragon Cross Country, Dragon Football, Lady Dragon Volleyball, Boys Swim/Dive, Girls Soccer and Dragon Golf. So far this school year we have two state titles in Dragon Cross Country and Lady Dragon Volleyball.
The Lady Dragons will either be going for state title #3 or #4 when they take to the course on May 4-5 at TPC San Antonio Oaks Course. The Dragons hit the links on Monday April 27th for the first day of the boys UIL state tournament to be played at White Bluff Resort, a new course at Lake Whitney. This is the first time that the Dragons and Lady Dragons have qualified for state in the same year since 2024.
It is going to be a great few weeks of golf for your Dragon and Lady Dragon Golf program.
