Though the Lady Dragons had suffered some tournament losses earlier in the season, they entered the game Friday night vs. Keller Central facing the season's first true adversity. Considering they were an eye lash away from being alone in first place and they entered the game in third, and a starting player was missing from the lineup, the Lady Dragons had a character check. They responded like the champions they are, sweeping away Keller Central 25-11, 25-14 and 25-13.

There was very little drama in this match as LDVB controlled the night throughout. The most competitive this match was occurred early in the first when the set was level at 5. From there the Lady Dragons took firm command and never trailed again. They eased to their 30th win on the season against 6 defeats and their 4th in district play to go to 4-1 currently in district 5-6A. They sit in 3rd place behind undefeated Byron Nelson and Keller who they have yet to play and will see next Friday.

Several players contributed to the effort as Annabelle Smith had 9 kills on the evening, Harper Hallgren chipped in 8 and Rachel Garcia contributed 6. The Lady Dragons were hot from the service line as Kendall Gilpin led the team with 5 aces while Harper Hallgren had 3 and Rachel Garcia contributed a pair.

Up next the Lady Dragons take on Fossil Ridge on the road on Tuesday, Sept. 25th at 6:30pm.
