Somebody forgot to tell the Lady Dragon Golf team that this week's tournament at Squaw Valley, for the record - the tournament is formally known at the Heart of Texas Championship, was just the opening weekend of the season.

The Varsity girls Black team staged a Saturday comeback worthy of the Rider Cup. First of all a Heart of Texas primer - this tournament isn't your normal format. The squads opened the tournament with 36 holes on Friday, followed up by another 18 on Saturday. Talk about your endurance match on an opener.

After the opening 36 the Lady Dragons would've been happy to just trophy as they were in 4th place beginning Saturday. Hence the dramatic comeback I referenced earlier. Day two was epic as the team rallied to capture the title with a team score of 892 . This was a 3 round tournament divided over two days.

Congratulations go to the team of Michelle Zhou, Stephanie Lee, Makayla Tyrrell, Emma Costa, and Riley McDole.
