Did you blink? The regular season ended Saturday for Carroll Cross Country as both the Dragons and Lady Dragons swept the Southlake Invitational.
The Dragons were led once again this week by Antonio Florcruz who came in 4th at 15:17. He was followed closely by Bennet Woolsey in 6th at 15:29. Logan Cantu was 7th at 15:33. Brian McCarthy was 9th at 15:35 and Bryan Fernando was 10th at 15:39.
The Lady Dragons owned the top 10 finishing with runners in 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th. They were led by Kaylie Cox at 17:59. Next was Abigail McIlvain at 18:03 then Laurel Hook at 18:23, then Grace Williamson at 18:29.1 and Lily Garland and 18:29.2.
"Our young men and women had outstanding races today." head coach Justin Leonard said. "The gap between our first and fifth varsity boys was fewer than 30 seconds, and just under 50 seconds for the girls. That's the type of consistency we're going to need if we want to defend our state titles."
After a week preparing for the 4-6A District meet the team travels to Denton's North Lakes Park on October 29th where they will look to capture the 4-6A title.
