Carroll Cross Country builds all year to the "championship season" and on Thursday morning the first brick on the championship road was laid. Carroll literally swept the entire meet as boys varsity, girls varsity, boys JV and girls JV all finished in FIRST place at the District 4-6A meet. It is a baker's dozen worth of titles for the boys team as they claimed their 13th consecutive district title, while the Lady Dragons claimed their 4th in a row.

The boys were paced by Jude Alvarez with a time of 14:58 which took gold medal position. His teammate Logan Cantu finished in second place at 15:05, while Caden Leonard finished in 4th at 15:08. Robert Freeman was 5th at 15:10 and Blake Bullard was 6th at 15:17. The Dragons were ooh so close to perfect scoring the meet with a team total of 18 points.

The Lady Dragons also had an outstanding meet at the championships as they were led by Ava Bushaw who won the individual meet and district title with a time of 16:43. Audrey Dunn followed closely behind her with a time of 17:15, Sylvia Schwedler was 3rd with a time of 17:27. The Lady Dragons also had an extremely low scoring day with a point total of 19 points.

Both JV teams also won district titles to conclude their 2022 campaigns. The Dragon JV team swept the top 12 spots in winning the 4-6A JV title while the Lady Dragons finished in the top 9 spots.

Up next the varsity teams have a hard week of training before heading to the Region 1 meet in Lubbock on Oct. 24th.
