Forgive the author's corny reference here, but country music superstar George Strait once had a song titled "If it wasn't for Texas." The song goes on about all the famous things that would never be if there wasn't a Texas. To borrow George's point several of you never had the pleasure of knowing Southlake Carroll Athletics run by Bob Ledbetter.

But without Bob there would no eight times State Champions. No new Dragon Stadium. No girl's softball or volleyball or swim programs. No Carroll Athletics Hall Honor. No 72 game winning streak in football. I could go on and on, but ...

Coach Ledbetter has been instrumental in the foundation of Carroll Athletics. And while school board meetings often are routine our school board has recently made a brilliant decision, naming the football field at Dragon Stadium The Bob Ledbetter Field.

Coach Ledbetter often says "Athletics is a people business. It's about the relationships we build."

Well, Coach, if you will allow me to brag for a moment, no one in the history of Carroll Athletics has built more relationships and impacted more people than yourself.
