Today, Carroll Athletics announces the hire of our first ever Strength and Conditioning coach. We welcome Doug Castleberry to our Dragon Athletics family.

Coach Castleberry will serve as a new and integral part of our developing strength and conditioning program, mentoring our athletes in several key areas. The position is fully funded by the Dragon Touchdown Club as a result of a two year commitment.

Coach Castleberry has years of experience in high school athletics. He earned a B.S. from Texas State University in San Marcus in Exercise and Sports Science and a Masters in Education Administration from Lamar University. He is a certified strength and conditioning coach with 18 years experience in coaching. He has served as a coach on multiple staffs with multi-sport backgrounds. He has coached baseball, softball, football, and basketball and comes to SLC after serving seven years as the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator at Northwest High School.

He will be responsible for developing and implementing, in conjunction with the head coaches of each sport, a comprehensive strength and conditioning plan for all athletes in all sports, grades 7-12. In addition to strength and conditioning, he will focus on helping our athletes in the areas of nutrition, refueling, and rehabbing, in coordination with our medical training staff.

We are extremely ecstatic to welcome Coach Castleberry and his family – wife Kasie and sons Jack, Jase and Camden to CISD.

Carroll Executive Director of Athletics Steve Keasler expounds about the hire saying “Coach Castleberry is the perfect fit to be our first strength and conditioning coach! He is a monumental hire for our athletic department and we are extremely excited to be working with him and can’t wait to see the impact his hire has on our athletes.”
