Generally speaking there is noting memorable about early season tournament games. As a season goes, tournament games get lost in a 40 game shuffle. But then there are moments like Friday afternoon vs. Allen when Dragon Junior Pitcher Ethan Baiotto towed the rubber and went to work.
Baiotto tossed 7 innings of SHUTOUT hitless baseball at Dragon Baseball Complex today in the Scotland Yard Tournament. All of the offense for the game took place in the 5th. The Dragons broke open a scoreless tie by platting four runs, three of which scored on an RBI double by Senior catcher Cody Cashon. And that was plenty for Baiotto who was masterful on the mound. He fanned eight Eagles in his date with history. The Eagles only saw the base paths twice on two errors throughout the course of the game.
Unbelievably this is the Dragon's second no hitter in the short season. Davis Perkins threw a no-hitter in the season opening Austin tournament.
The Dragons, 9-4, are right back in action tonight at 6:30 when they take on Sachse in the continuation of the Scotland Yard Tournament at Dragon Baseball Complex.
