Prior to coaching at the high school level, Dodge worked as an Offensive Analyst at the University of Texas and as a Graduate Assistant at Texas A&M University. As a college athlete, he played at the University of North Texas and McNeese State University earning numerous accolades including Sun Belt All-Conference Quarterback honors, and the Shawn Kramer Most Inspirational Player Award. A former standout Dragon quarterback himself, Dodge was part of three state championship teams and was named Texas High School Player of the Year in both 2006 and 2007, MaxPreps National Player of the Year in 2006, and a Parade All-American in 2007.
Dodge and his wife, Alexis, are both Carroll graduates. They have four children, Tate (9), Landry (6), Blakely (4) and Charlotte (6 months).
“Coach Dodge has proven himself to be a dedicated and visionary leader both on and off the field. His passion for the development of our student-athletes and his commitment to our district’s values make him the perfect choice for this expanded role. We are excited to see how his leadership will enhance all of our athletic programs and build on a culture of excellence across the board,” said Dr. Jeremy Glenn, Superintendent of Carroll ISD.
Historical Note: Coach Dodge is the first Athletic Director to serve as both head football coach and athletic director since multiple time state champion Bob Ledbetter retired in 1996 to become the district's full time AD. Coach Dodge is the 9th Athletic Director in CISD history.
