They said it couldn't be done. They said it was a rebuilding year, that Dragon Tennis had lost so many from a team that had set a program record - 8 individual qualifiers from the Spring season.

All this 'rebuilding' team did was go out and make school history again by qualifying for the UIL State tournament for the first time in school history in team tennis.

Yes it ended on a chilly morning with a format that will likely never be repeated again as yesterday's postponement forced an 8am first serve.

Dragon Team Tennis finished 17-6 on the season and accomplished a feat that had never been done before by reaching the semi-final round in team competition. This morning's 10-7 final will be but a footnote in history. What matters is that we are here now and there is one fewer 'firsts' to accomplish for this program.
