Dragons and Lady Dragons capture Region 2 Swim/Dive Championship

Dragon and Lady Dragon Swim/Dive can start making their annual hotel reservations for the UIL State Swim Meet in two weeks. While individual state qualification times are yet to be made official, at this point, it appears that 8 Dragons and 7 Lady Dragons will be headed to the UIL Meet, which is the second fastest high school state meet in the entire country - according to the Dragon coaching staff.

Each side - the Dragons and Lady Dragons - will also send two divers. All Dragon and Lady Dragon relay teams have also qualified for the forthcoming state meet. Both teams will enter the meet as Region 2-6A Champions. The Lady Dragons won with a grand total of 511 points while the Dragons had 429 points.

The eight qualifying swimmers for the Dragons are Christian Balint, Ryan Perham, Andrew Zettle, Grayson Whitsett, Nicholas Swafford, Michael Kietzman, Jackson Pogue and Mason Edmund. The Dragon Divers are Jackson Miller and Phillip Kleiman.

The seven qualifying swimmers for the Lady Dragons are Riley Francis, Ashley Zettle, Kate Heintz, Corbyn Cormack, Kit Kat Zenick, Madelyn Clem and Hailey Heldenbrand. The Lady Dragon Divers are Hailey Hernandez and Bridgett O'Neil.

After having the final week of training for the 2019-2020 season the Dragons will be looking for their 10th consecutive title and 12th overall. The Lady Dragons will also look to defend their title looking for their 4th overall title on Feb. 14-15 at the University of Texas Swim Center in Austin.
