CARROLL ISD ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT PRESS RELEASE

The Carroll ISD Athletic Department is disappointed to announce that the Varsity Football game against Denton Guyer on Friday, October 16 at Dragon Stadium has been canceled for health and safety reasons.

A Carroll student-athlete who tested positive for COVID-19 was last present at an athletic event on Thursday, October 8, 2020. Due to privacy requirements, we cannot release the name of the individual or any further details.

The Tarrant County Public Health Department has been notified, and contact tracing has been completed. To provide the safest environment for our athletes and coaching staff, TCPH recommended that we continue to monitor our student-athletes in the football program. Carroll ISD Athletics will continue to work with the UIL and Tarrant County to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 within our athletic programs.
Unfortunately, the game between Denton Guyer and Carroll will not be rescheduled this season, and the game will be ruled a no-contest. Ticket refunds for the varsity game will be credited back to the credit card used for the original purchase.
Thursday’s Freshman and Junior Varsity games against Denton Guyer will be played as scheduled.
